Once upon a time I had no weakness, then some chick decided it was a good idea to binge....fuck.
Carnage and Venom both like different sorts of people too (Venom preferred at least semi-righteous guys until recently, Carnage prefers Cletus Kasady)
I think Venom actually loves Peter and has always been pissed at the rejection. Carnage just loves to kill (and possibly loves Cletus since it always returned despite it's frequent excursions onto other hosts)

I always thought Spider Man 3 would have been much improved if Mary Jane got symbioted.
