What was she like before she was mutated?

She was a street urchin who grew up in the worst postindustrial slums imaginable. Think L.A. after the next world war. She was a troubled kid, a dropout, and always trying to hook up with the toughest thug on the block for protection. She has serious issues with men, and generally detests them. As for her personality, she is bratty, mean, selfish, arrogant, vindictive, and completely unwilling to take responsibility for her actions. She's honestly the last person in the world who should ever have dangerous superpowers....

During her mutation, which was torturous, she was badly scarred and burned, and her left eye was popped like a grape in a deep fryer.

How'd she get like this again?

I'm still working on her backstory... my latest idea is that she was unlucky enough to run across a certain dark lordling who was manifesting his evil godlike powers, and she was foolish enough to insult his terrible haircut and shabby clothes. In his psychotic fugue state, he manipulated a stream of toxic crap from a nearby pipe, with the intent of slowly and painfully erasing her from existence. At the last moment, he changed his mind and tried to put her back together, and this is the result.
